NYSC announces January 21 kickoff for 2026 Batch ‘A’ orientation

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has fixed Wednesday, January 21, 2026, as the commencement date for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Orientation Course across the country.
In a statement issued by the scheme, NYSC confirmed that the three-week exercise will hold simultaneously in all 37 orientation camps nationwide.
According to the schedule, registration of prospective corps members will open on Wednesday, January 21, and close at midnight on Friday, January 23, 2026.
The Swearing-in Ceremony for the new corps members is billed for Friday, January 23, while the Closing Ceremony will hold on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
The Director General of NYSC, Olakunle Nafiu, urged all prospective corps members to travel safely to their states of deployment and strongly advised against embarking on night journeys to the orientation camps.
