NYSC hints at allowance increase for corps members

Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed, has announced that corps members are expected to benefit from the new minimum wage when approved.
The development was disclosed on Sunday at Ogun State Orientation Camp in Sagamu, according to a statement made available for Dailyeconomy on Monday by the Director of Information and Public Relations of NYSC, Eddy Megwa.
Ahmed said, “Corps Members are expected to benefit from the minimum wage when it is approved.”
However, the DG tasked the corps members to participate in issues relating to patriotism and entrepreneurship.
“Corps Members should patronise issues relating to patriotism, entrepreneurship, security consciousness, and community development among other issues of youth development for leadership roles,” he added.
