The 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress and activist, Omoyele Sowore disclosed on Monday that officials of the Local Government Inspector of the National Youth Service Corps, in Lagos State absconded after inviting Corps member, Ushie Rita Uguamaye, also known as Raye, for criticising the government.
In a video posted on her TikTok account #talktoraye over the weekend, Raye voiced her frustration over Nigeria’s deteriorating economic situation, blaming President Tinubu for the hardship.
She also described the president as a “terrible leader.”
In another video clip, the corps member was heard claiming that she was being threatened by officials of the NYSC.
Following her public outbursts, Raye was summoned to appear in the office of her LGI for questioning on Monday.
However, Raye was accompanied to the office by Sowore and some legal practitioners.
Sowore in an X (formally Twitter) handle wrote, “We arrived at the Eti-Osa LGI offices of the National Youth Service Corps with youth Corper, Ushie Rita Uguamaye in Lagos.
“She was scheduled to appear before the LGI today and we escorted her to their offices with attorneys, Festus Ogun, Adeyinka Oyesomi and Ojienoh Justice but LGI officials had absconded failing to show up throughout our stay.
“We will be back! #RevolutionNow #tinubuisaterriblepresident.”
