Ogun gov visits collapse Shagamu-Benin Expressway for solution

Ogun Governor, Dapo Abiodun has visited the Shagamu-Benin expressway which begins at the interchange of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to inspect the situation of the road and what led to the breakdown and collapse of the road.

The visit according to the governor was to find a solution to the problem which has been causing hardship to commuters from Lagos to the Southeast, to the South-South zone and vice-versa.

This was divulged in a post shared on the official X (formally Twitter) handle of Abiodun on Monday, September.

The post reads, “We made an unscheduled visit to the Shagamu-Benin Expressway to assess the extent of the damage. We are currently on the Shagamu-Benin Expressway, which begins at the interchange of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

“Our purpose here is to personally inspect the situation and understand what has led to the complete breakdown and collapse of this road, causing a significant hardship for commuters travelling from Lagos to the southeast and south-south zones of the country, as well as those travelling from those regions to Lagos or other destinations.

“This visit underscores our commitment to finding immediate solutions to ease the suffering of commuters and restore this vital road to full functionality.”
