Abdullateef Fowewe

Ogun Governor, Dapo Abiodun has announced that Gateway International Airport, Iperu-Ilishan, will begin full flight operations on October 7, 2025.

Abiodun in a statement shared on Tuesday via his official X account noted that the flights from Ogun State to Abuja will be operated by ValueJet, described as “one of Nigeria’s fast-growing aviation companies.”

The approved schedule sets departures from Gateway Airport every Tuesday and Thursday at 8:30 a.m., with return flights from Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 4:00 p.m.

Tickets have been available since September 25 through online platforms, travel agents, and airport ticket desks.

Highlighting the significance, the Governor said, “The commencement of commercial operations at Gateway International Airport is a major step in our vision to position Ogun State as Nigeria’s emerging hub for modern aviation, commerce, and industrial growth.”

He added this will “boost economic activities, attract investors, and ease business and leisure travel for our people and visitors alike.”
