Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has presented the 2026 Appropriation Bill totaling ₦1.668 trillion to the State House of Assembly, marking a 63 percent increase from the 2025 budget.

Termed the “Budget of Sustainable Legacy,” this proposal allocates ₦624.76 billion to recurrent expenses and ₦1.044 trillion for capital projects focused on completing priority initiatives under the ISEYA pillars to drive long-term growth.

Governor Abiodun stated, “Sectoral allocations place infrastructure at the forefront with ₦526.15 billion, followed by education, health, housing, and other key areas that directly impact the lives of our people.”

The budget anticipates revenues from internally generated revenue (IGR) amounting to ₦509.88 billion, statutory federal allocations of ₦554.81 billion, and capital receipts of ₦518.90 billion.

Reflecting on the progress of the 2025 budget, the governor noted, “We achieved 60 percent of pro-rata expenditure and 53 percent of pro-rata revenue performance as of September 30.”

He highlighted dynamic projects underway, including the fully certified Gateway International Airport, the Kajola and Ijebu-Ode Inland Dry Ports, and over 1,500 kilometers of roads constructed or rehabilitated across the state.

Abiodun thereby expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts of the House of Assembly and urged expeditious consideration of the budget ahead of key 2026 events such as the Gateway Afrobeat Drum Festival and Ogun State’s 50th Anniversary.

He thanked stakeholders across various sectors for their role in maintaining peace and progress in Ogun State.
