Chiefs from the Ooni of Ife’s palace have thrown their weight behind Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s second-term bid, hailing his administration’s transformative impact on Ile-Ife during a courtesy visit to the Government House.
Led by the Obalufe of Ife, Oba Adediwura Idowu, the delegation commended Adeleke for unprecedented developmental strides in the ancient city, including robust infrastructure projects and a strong government presence unmatched by previous administrations.
Oba Adediwura emphasised the governor’s people-centered leadership and visible achievements across Osun State over the past three years.
“The people of Ile-Ife are proud of the governor’s performance and have unanimously resolved to endorse him for a second term,” he said, adding that the current progress signals even greater results if re-elected.
The chiefs highlighted Adeleke’s cordial relationship with the Ooni of Ife, whom they called the father of the Yoruba race, noting it has fostered peace, unity, and mutual respect in Osun State and Yorubaland.
Baba Lowa Adimula spotlighted ongoing road construction and other projects in Ile-Ife, describing the governor as a “true son of the Source.”
He urged faster completion of a pioneering bridge project and dualisation of the road to the Ooni’s Palace at Enuwa to alleviate traffic and boost the economy.
The group also pressed the Federal Government to release withheld local government funds, delayed for 11 months, affecting traditional rulers and other beneficiaries.
The visit ended with prayers for Adeleke’s success and a firm reaffirmation of Ile-Ife’s support for his administration.
