Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen has surpassed his previous record for goals scored in a season, now totaling 33 goals across all competitions.

Playing for Galatasaray, on loan from Napoli, Osimhen achieved this milestone after scoring twice in a 4-1 victory against Sivasspor in the Turkish Süper Lig on Saturday.

Osimhen’s first goal came in the 15th minute, when he capitalised on a rebound.

He then extended the lead in the 31st minute with a shot into the top left corner.

Although he had another goal disallowed by VAR, his performance helped Galatasaray extend their lead at the top of the league table.

Reacting to the record on Sunday via his Instagram story, Osimhen reflected on his achievement, stating, “Yesterday, I broke my personal record of 31 goals in a season for club, now sitting at 33 goals.

“Same hunger. Same mentality.

This isn’t just about numbers. it’s about God, the growth, and the silent, relentless work that speaks louder than any noise from the critics.

“To those who sat back hoping l’d fail… sorry to disappoint you and to those supporting me before and after the world catches on, I sincerely appreciate all of you. God is the Greatest, and He remains in control.

“But this record isn’t for the noise. It’s for my wonderful family and the few loyal friends who never stopped believing in me. Your love and support fuels me every step of the way. This one’s for you.

We’re not done yet, God is just getting started.”

Osimhen has been a key player for Galatasaray, scoring 24 league goals and helping them pursue a third consecutive Süper Lig title.

Galatasaray is also set to appear in the Turkish Cup final against Trabzonspor on May 14.
