Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen has generously gifted Remo Stars and their players a sum of N10 million following their first-ever Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title victory.
This was made known in an X (formally Twitter) on Tuesday by a sport journalist, Sulaiman Adebayo, well-known as Pooja.
He wrote, “Victor Osimhen gifts Remo Stars & players a sum of N10m for winning the NPFL title for the first time ever.“
Pooja thereby praised Osimhen’s consistent backing of Nigerian football, stating, “Always supports”-highlighting his commitment to encouraging local talent and success.
This landmark achievement came after Remo Stars secured a 1-0 win over Niger Tornadoes, sealing their maiden NPFL championship.
Remo Stars’ triumph marks the first NPFL title for a privately owned club in 20 years and the first for a South-West club since 2000, a feat celebrated nationwide and endorsed by prominent figures including President Bola Tinubu, Dailyeconomy reports.
This generous reward from Osimhen not only celebrates the club’s historic achievement but also serves as a significant morale boost for the players as they continue their successful campaign.
