Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has approved shorter working hours for public servants in Osun State during the ongoing Ramadan and Lent fasting periods.

The policy, detailed in a circular from the Office of the Head of Service and signed by Elder Ayanleye Aina, mandates that workers close by 2:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and 1:00 p.m. on Fridays throughout the fasting season.

“This adjustment is part of its welfare considerations, allowing workers more time for prayers and reflection,” the circular states, emphasising the government’s commitment to employee well-being.

Essential services remain unaffected, with medical personnel and other critical staff exempted to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Political office holders, accounting officers of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), heads of non-ministerial agencies, local government councils, and local council development authorities must enforce compliance.
