Otedola gives quadruplet family N5m, offers scholarships for two kids after over N16m donation

Nigerian businessman, Femi Otedola has gifted the parents of quadruplets a N5 million and offered scholarships to two of their children.

The family of Sodiq Olayode and his wife Abiodun Olayode recently gave birth to a quadruplet after having two kids and decided to have one child but turned into a quadruplet.

However, after the delivery of the quadruplet when Olayode lamented via his WhatsApp status that his quadruplet had used over 105 pieces of diapers in just six days, which made his friend, identified as Jamysax sought donations for him on X (formally Twitter). Since then the family has been receiving an outpouring of support from the Nigerian with many individuals contributing funds to help cover the costs of caring for the quadruplets.

In contribution, Otedola on Monday presented a cheque of N5 million to the family of eight and offered scholarships to two kids till they finished university.

Confirming the donation on X, Olayode’s friend, jamysax wrote, “Femi Otedola sent representatives to offer a Cheque of 5 Million naira to the parents of the quadruplets and also he offered a scholarship for the education of 2 of their kids till university. I’m in tears guys.”

However, Dailyeconomy on July 25, reported that after people had contributed over N14m to the quadruplet family, Airtel Nigeria also donated N2 million to the family making it over N16 million.
