Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has shared personal reflections on his recent break from official duties, emphasising the importance of lasting governance beyond individual leadership.

In a statement shared with Dailyeconomy through Gmail on Friday, he wrote, “Over the past days, I have enjoyed a rare gift: time alone with my thoughts. Catching up on other parts of my life that usually take a backseat to work hasn’t exactly been restful. Despite this, I’m grateful for the break and the chance to pause, recharge, and reflect.”

He acknowledged the continued smooth running of the state government in his absence, expressing appreciation for the Deputy Governor’s role.

“While I have been away, our Deputy Governor, His Excellency Barr. Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal has held the fort which I am thankful for. So, the wheels of governance have continued to turn in Oyo State.”

Highlighting his vision for sustainable progress, the Governor stated, “Governance is not about noise or titles—it is about building systems that outlast any one individual.”

He expressed optimism about Oyo State’s future growth and development, affirming, “We will keep consolidating our achievements, deepening opportunities for our people, and ensuring Oyo State continues to attract the attention and investment it deserves. The journey is far from over, and the best is yet to come.”

He concluded his message with gratitude to citizens for their ongoing support and confidence: “Thank you for your constant support, patience, and belief in the future of Oyo State. With renewed energy, we will continue this journey—together.”
