The Oyo State Government has launched a new traffic enforcement measure – One-Way Tyre Spikes – aimed at curbing wrong-way driving.
A video sighted by our correspondent on Wednesday, shows the spikes in action, puncturing the tyres of vehicles attempting to drive against the flow of traffic.
This initiative is part of the state’s efforts to enforce road regulations more strictly and enhance road safety.
The video which was posted by #OyoAffairs on X (formally Twitter) captioned, “To prevent motorists from driving the wrong way on one-way roads, the Oyo State Government has started installing ‘One-Way Tyre Spikes.’ This one here is located along Idi-Ape.”
However, at the time of filling this report, the State Government has yet to issue an official regarding the action.
