Talent manager, Paulo Okoye, has fired back at singer Spyro, who alleged that he struggled financially while signed to Okoye’s record label.
Spyro had earlier in an interview with Echo Room podcast, claimed that he had to take a loan to support himself, as he didn’t earn anything from the label, and accused Okoye of being ineffective in managing the label.
Spyro said, “I was signed to a record label owned by a billionaire who owns like 3 Rolls Royce, but I was signed and nothing was happening. I wasn’t even getting a dime.”
Reacting to the claims, Okoye took to his Instagram story sharing receipts of his expenses on Spyro.
Okoye claimed he invested a N12 million in Spyro, covering N4.2 million in expenses, two music videos, and the singer’s inaugural international trips to Dubai and the UK.
Okoye accompanied the receipts with a caption, “Wow wow – 2017. Spyro expenses 4.2m + 2 music video + first ever travel, Dubai, UK etc. Flight, hotel etc. Total spend N12m. Money made with Spyro = 0KoboNaira. But it is well, I’m happy for him.”
