The Presidential CNG Initiative (PCNGi) has taken a bold step to transform Nigerian university campuses by introducing Project CNG-SPROUT, aimed at powering campuses with clean, green energy while fostering practical skills among students.
In collaboration with MDGIF and Femadec Energy Limited, the project goes beyond merely providing affordable transportation for students.
It is designed to equip them with hands-on experience in compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle conversion and maintenance, thereby “opening doors to future employment and entrepreneurship,” according to PCNGi.
The initiative will initially be rolled out in six universities, with plans to expand to 14 more institutions before the end of the year, signaling a significant push towards sustainable energy and skill development in Nigeria’s higher education sector.
“This project is not just about clean energy; it’s about empowering our youth with the skills and opportunities to build a greener, more prosperous future,” said PCNGi.
