The Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Olusegun Omosehin, has charged the newly invested President of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), Mrs. Ekeoma Esther Ezeibe, to lead with integrity, innovation, and inclusion in advancing the nation’s insurance broking sector.

Omosehin gave the charge today, Friday, during the grand investiture ceremony of Mrs. Ezeibe as the 23rd President and Chairman of the Governing Board of NCRIB, held at the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The high-profile ceremony drew top insurance stakeholders, regulatory agencies, government officials, and members of the business community, marking a major milestone in the history of the Council.
In his address, the Commissioner described Mrs. Ezeibe’s investiture as “a celebration of excellence, resilience, and visionary leadership,” commending her remarkable contributions to the insurance industry over the years. He also applauded the outgoing President, Prince Babatunde Oguntade, for his courageous and impactful leadership, which he said upheld integrity and strengthened the Council’s reputation.

He urged brokers to adapt to the changing risk landscape by offering client-focused advisory services, ensuring transparency in placements, and leveraging digital tools for efficient and ethical operations. “In today’s dynamic environment, brokers must evolve to meet emerging risks through professionalism, innovation, and empathy,” he said.
Omosehin reaffirmed NAICOM’s regulatory priorities, which include risk-based supervision, enhanced market conduct oversight, data and reporting improvement, and technology-driven processes such as digital KYC and API-enabled claims management. He encouraged the Council to work closely with the Commission in implementing the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Agenda (NIIRA) 2025.

Charging the new NCRIB President, Omosehin said, “Mrs. Ezeibe, as you assume this esteemed role, I urge you to lead with professionalism that sets new benchmarks, inclusion that brings every Nigerian into the safety net, innovation that transforms how we serve, and trust that anchors our market’s reputation.”
Mrs. Ezeibe, who becomes the third female President in NCRIB’s 63-year history, pledged to consolidate the gains of her predecessors while promoting growth, ethical standards, and inclusivity within the broking community.
