The Nigeria Police Force has officially received a petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) concerning an incident involving the renowned Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as Kwam 1 or K1 De Ultimate.
The musician is accused of unruly conduct that allegedly obstructed the safe operation of a ValueJet aircraft at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on August 5, 2025. This behavior is said to violate the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023.
According to the NCAA’s letter to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kwam 1’s actions were serious enough to necessitate a comprehensive criminal investigation and potential prosecution under the aviation laws. The NCAA also cited preliminary reports that the musician disrupted standard operational procedures and raised significant concerns about passenger conduct and airline safety protocols.
However, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, in a statement late Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, directed the Commissioner of Police at the Airport Command to “immediately commence a thorough investigation into the matter, to unravel the circumstances which led to the ugly incident and ensure justice is served accordingly.”
“The Force hereby assures the public of its commitment to upholding safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector, while assuring stakeholders in the sector of improved collaboration towards aviation security and strict compliance with aviation laws,” the Police assured in the statement.
