The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned a suspected hired assassin, Wasiu Akinwande, at the Ogba Magistrate Court on 11 charges including murder, unlawful possession of arms, and conspiracy to commit felony.

This was confirmed in a statement on Tuesday, by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin.

The 44-year-old Akinwande, widely known by his alias Olori Eso, was described as one of the most wanted and dangerous hired killers in the state.

He was arrested during a high-risk tactical operation code-named Silence, Speed, and Surprise, executed by the Command’s Tactical Squad at his hideout in the Agbado area of Ogun State.

The suspect, notorious for a reign of terror in Mushin and its environs, had reportedly evaded multiple arrest attempts before he was finally tracked down across state lines.

Hundeyin noted that a large cache of weapons and incriminating items was recovered from his residence. The exhibits, which include firearms and other tools of violence, were said to be used in a series of killings linked to Akinwande and his gang. The suspect allegedly confessed to using the weapons for his operations.

Disclosing the arraignment, Hundeyin wrote, “Wasiu Akinwande aka Olori Eso is currently being arraigned at the Ogba Magistrate Court on an eleven-count charge.”
