Police arrest bandit, recover 37 fabricated firearms in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough in its fight against banditry with the arrest of a notorious armed bandit, Muhammadu Dan Kani, popularly known as “Akki.”

According to a statement shared on Wednesday by the Nigeria Police Force on X, the suspect was apprehended during a targeted operation, which also led to the recovery of 37 fabricated firearms believed to have been in circulation among criminal groups in the state.

The Command described the arrest as a significant step in dismantling bandit networks and curbing the proliferation of illegal weapons fuelling insecurity in Zamfara and neighbouring states.

Police authorities assured the public that investigations are ongoing, adding that further updates will be provided as efforts to restore peace and security continue.
