The Nigeria Police Force has arrested three additional suspects linked to the recent killings in Plateau State, intensifying its crackdown on criminal conspiracy, gunrunning, and illegal firearms possession in the region.

A statement issued on Monday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi noted that on May 3, 2025, at about 4:30 PM, IRT operatives apprehended Abubakar Jibrin in Kalone Community, Shendam LGA, Plateau State, where he was found with prohibited firearms.

His confession led to the recovery of an SMG rifle with an empty magazine at his residence.

The following day, police recovered two fabricated revolver rifles in Barkin Ladi, tied to cartridges from another suspect, Ismail Danjuma, who is now in custody and assisting with investigations.

“These recent operations demonstrate the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to diligently ensuring every person complicit in these condemnable killings is brought to justice and made to face the full wrath of the Law,” stated Adejobi.

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, urged the public to remain calm and continue supporting police efforts to restore peace.

“The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM., urges members of the public to maintain calmness, continue providing crucial information and unalloyed support that can aid efforts of the NPF in restoring peace in these disturbed areas and other parts of the country,” Adejobi added.
