The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has reinforced its dedication to combating cybercrime and fostering a safer digital environment by actively participating in the Meta Two-Day Summit on Online Safety in Abuja.

The event, themed “The Future of Online Safety: Combating Evolving Threats,” gathered law enforcement, policymakers, and tech partners to address the growing challenges of cyber threats.

Representing the NPF, officers from the National Cybercrime Centre enhanced their skills in digital forensics, intelligence-led investigations, and cross-border cybercrime tactics.

The summit also underscored the importance of strong partnerships between the police, technology companies, and civil society.

A statement on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyi, reads, “The sessions further deepened inter-agency collaboration, emphasizing the importance of partnerships between the Police, technology companies, and civil society organizations in promoting online safety, digital trust, and responsible use of technology.

“Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has reaffirmed the staunch commitment of the Force to sustained partnership with Meta and other global technology stakeholders. He noted that such collaborations are key to curbing cross-border cyber threats and advancing the Force’s vision of technology-driven and intelligence-led policing in Nigeria.”
