Police defend secrecy, say we’re not content creators

The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi has appealed to Nigerians to support the Nigerian Police Force and wishes them success in carrying out their operations effectively.
Adejobi while addressing concerns about the transparency of police activities in a post via his X (formally Twitter) handle emphasised that most of the police operations and anti-crime strategies are conducted covertly and will not be disclosed to the public unless when necessary.
He enjoined Nigerians not to expect security forces to roll out their strategies online as if they were content creators.
He wrote, “Many of our operations and anti-crime strategies are covert and will not be made known to the public, except when it’s extremely necessary. Please note that make some of them public where and when necessary to educate and reassure the public of their safety.
“Don’t expect security forces to roll out their strategies online as if they are content creators.
“Let’s support them and wish them well in their quest to continually safeguard our lives and property and our great county, Nigeria.”
