The Airport Police Command has responded swiftly to a viral social media video showing its officers in a confrontation with Instagram content creator @teaserprank2 during a routine stop-and-search operation.

In an official statement signed by ASP Mohammed Adeola, Police Public Relations Officer, Airport Police Command, the command confirmed that the involved officers have been identified and detained.

“The officers captured in the video have been identified and taken into custody. They are currently undergoing appropriate internal disciplinary procedures in line with the extant rules, regulations, and professional standards of the Nigeria Police Force,” the statement read.

The police expressed sympathy to the creator, emphasising zero tolerance for misconduct.

“The Airport Police Command sympathizes with @teaserprank2 for the experience encountered during the incident. The Nigeria Police Force does not condone any form of harassment, intimidation, or unprofessional conduct by its personnel under any circumstance,” it added.

Officers are urged to perform duties “with civility, restraint, and respect for the rights and dignity of all citizens.”

Teaserprank2 has been invited to the command for a full resolution.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism.

“The Airport Police Command will continue to uphold discipline within its ranks and will take decisive action against any conduct that undermines public confidence or falls short of expected policing standards,” the statement concluded, urging public cooperation amid ongoing security operations.
