Police free EndSARS protesters hours after detention

The Lagos State Command has released over 18 #EndSARS protesters detained during the fourth-anniversary commemoration of the protests at Lekki Toll Gate.
The protesters were reported taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department after being tear-gassed and arrested by police.
The State Commissioner Olanrewaju Ishola was present to oversee their release, as confirmed on Sunday by the State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin.
He wrote, “All protesters in our custody have been released. CP Olanrewaju Ishola was on the ground at the SCID to personally ensure this.”
The protests, originating from demands against police brutality in 2020, saw notable figures among those arrested, including youth activists and members of the #EndBadGovernance Movement.
