Police free Speed Darlington

Controversial singer, Darlington Okoye alias Speed Darlington has been released on bail from police custody.

Human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed that Speed Darlington was released after meeting his bail conditions on Tuesday.

Adeyanju in a post via his social media handle appreciated those who contributed to the singer’s release and commended the police in the IRT department for their professionalism.

He wrote, “Special appreciation to Egbon @YeleSowore , super reliable senior lawyer @stanalieke and to all Nigerians for raising their voice for Speed Darlington.

“Must also appreciate Prof Sanusi and his team at IRT for the professionalism today.”

However, Dailyeconomy had earlier reported that Adeyanju said Darlington was arrested in Lagos last Friday and then transferred to Abuja, where he was detained following a formal complaint of defaming and cyberstalking filed by Nigeria singer, Burna Boy.
