Police, NIMC partner to curb identity crimes, others

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the Nigeria Police National Cybercrime Centre to partner with the National Identity Management Commission to curb identity theft and other data-related crimes in Nigeria.
In a statement on Sunday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, he stated that the police will use all available means to fight corruption and criminality in the country.
Adejobi wrote, “The IGP has ordered the Nigeria Police National Cybercrime Centre to work closely with the National Identity Management Commission to curb identity theft and other data-related crimes in Nigeria. We will exploit all available means to fight crimes and criminality in Nigeria.”
Dailyeconomy on July 13, 2024, reported that the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime ranked the Nigeria Police Force the most improved organisation against corruption after their corruption survey.
