The Nigeria Police Force has advised citizens to report any incidents of police misconduct or harassment to the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) or the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state where the incident occurred.

In a statement via the X (formally Twitter) handle of the Nigeria Police Force, the Force acknowledged that occasional friction may arise in the course of law enforcement duties, but stressed the importance of accountability and public feedback.

The statement reads, “Good day, Nigerians! As we continue working to improve our services and strengthen the safety and security of every law-abiding citizen, we acknowledge that instances of friction may sometimes occur.

“If you experience or witness any form of police misconduct or harassment, please speak up!

“Here’s what to do: Call the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) Helpline or contact the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state where the incident occurred.

“Still not satisfied? Reach out to the Public Complaints Bureau, Force Headquarters, Abuja directly via: 07056792065

“Your safety is our priority. Help us serve you better.”
