The controversial Nigeria singer, Habeeb Badmus well known as Portable has been seeking the assistance of human rights activist and lawyer, Femi Falana in his ongoing legal battle with the Ogun State Government.

The controversy began when officials from the Ogun state planning and development permit authority attempted to seal Portable’s bar due to a lack of approved permits and insufficient air space, Dailyeconomy reports.

However, the singer allegedly assaulted the officials during the process.

The altercation led to the arrest and arraignment of nine of Portable’s associates on a five-count charge, including armed violence, felony, obstruction, assault, and intent to kill.

They were granted bail of N5 million each with sureties who are licensed bond agents registered with the state government.

The case was adjourned until March 17 for further hearing.

However, in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Portable, who has remained in hiding since then, expressed his desire for a fearless lawyer like Falana to represent him, citing that he (Falaba) is the man of the people.

He wrote, “God all I want his a fearless lawyer. People like daddy Falana, man of the people Ifalana.”
