The President of the Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society, Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf, and the Chief Missioner of NASFAT, Marufdeen AbdulAzeez, have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for addressing Nigeria’s pressing issues.
AbdulRauf in a statement sent to our correspondent by the NASFAT National Public Relations Committee, called on Nigerians to remain patient and maintain peace as the government becomes more proactive, rather than reactive in implementing the solutions to the current economic situations, providing impactful and productive palliatives for the masses.
Emphasising that Tinubu in his address to the nation on August 4, 2024, acknowledged the economic difficulties resulting from high inflation and the removal of fuel subsidies and reassured Nigerians that his administration is committed to find sustainable solutions.
Alhaji AbdulRauf in the statement noted that “Tinubu’s efforts to communicate openly and tackle our nation’s challenges are commendable; it is crucial for us to support our leaders and give them the time needed to implement their plans.”
The statement reads in part, “NASFAT, known for its emphasis on spiritual and social development, promotes patience and unity. AbdulRauf’s message aligns with the teachings of the Qur’an, which emphasize patience: “And be patient; surely, Allah is with those who are patient” (Qur’an 8:46).”
However, the Chief Missioner of NASFAT, AbdulAzeez, while addressing thousands of worshipers at the Asalatu premises at Lagos State Secretariat Central Mosque Alausa-Ikeja, emphasised the importance of steadfastness in prayers and support for leaders.
He said, “Muslims should be steadfast in their request to Allah, wish their leaders well with prayers and actions. Leaders should not fail in their responsibilities in creating a business and livelihood-enabling environment for citizens.
“With support from religious institutions, Tinubu’s administration aims to balance immediate relief efforts with long-term reforms, offering hope for a brighter future for Nigeria.”
Dailyeconomy on Saturday, July 27, 2024, reported that the NASFAT president appealed to Nigerians to shun the planned nationwide protest.
