Renaissance Energy resumes gas supply to Nigeria LNG after five years

Renaissance Energy has successfully fulfilled its contractual obligation to supply gas to Nigeria LNG (LNG) for the first time in five years.
This milestone signifies a pivotal moment in the ongoing revival of the country’s oil and gas industry.
The breakthrough follows concerted efforts by the Federal Government, spearheaded by President Bola Tinubu’s directives to enhance security and operational stability across the sector.
These according to a statement shared by the Presidency on Friday strengthened security protocols, coordinated by top government officials and security agencies, have been instrumental in revitalising gas production and supply.
National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu highlighted the importance of this development noting, “This accomplishment is a direct result of seamless collaboration between security agencies and the petroleum sector. It reflects our unwavering commitment to safeguard and promote Nigeria’s energy infrastructure.”
Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru Abubakar echoed this sentiment, stating, “The government’s integrated security strategy has restored confidence in the energy sector, enabling companies like Renaissance Energy to operate effectively and reliably.”
The resumption of gas deliveries to LNG promises multiple economic benefits, including enhanced revenues for the Federal Government, state and local governments, substantial job creation, and increased foreign exchange earnings from expanded gas exports to Europe.
