A member of the House of Representatives from Abia State, Alexander Ikwechegh has threatened to make an Uber driver, Stephen Abuwatseya disappear from Nigeria.
The maltreatment was seen in a video shared on X (formally Twitter) by the former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Chidi Odinkalu.
In the video, the Rep member was also seen threatening to beat up the bolt driver and lock him up in his generator house.
It was gathered that the altercation followed a disagreement between the lawmaker and the taxi driver.
Ikwechegh could be heard saying, “Do you know who I am? So you think I will give you my money the way you have spoken to me?”
“I did a drop for you and you have to pay, sir,” the taxi driver responded.
However, the lawmaker continued saying, “You will not see a penny from me. With this level of disrespect, you are very stupid.”
Putting a call to the vendor who sent the driver, the honourable member said, “Madam, who is this stupid boy that you sent to my house? Who is this foolish boy that you sent to my house?
“How can this stupid idiot come and told me that I should come and meet him in his car and pick up snail that I am buying from you? Could you imagine this rat, I can make this boy disappear from the whole of Nigeria and nothing will happen. I’m not going to give this boy one Naira of my money.
“No, no, I am not going to give this silly boy one Naira of my money.
“I am not going to call policeman to beat you up. I am going to beat you up myself. I will slap the hell out of you and lock you up in my generator house. How dare you?”
However, the lawmaker boasted that he slapped the driver twice and that he was ready to land him a third slap.
