The Nigerian House of Representatives has instructed the Nigerian Communications Commission to take immediate action to block all pornographic websites within the country.
The directive requires the NCC to ensure that internet service providers comply and restrict access to such content without delay.
This was gathered in a video shared by NASS TV on Tuesday.
The motion, sponsored by Dalhatu Tafoki, an All Progressives Congress (APC) representative from Katsina State, was introduced in response to the growing global concerns surrounding cyber pornography.
Tafoki stressed that despite the rising threat, Nigeria has yet to take adequate steps to address the issue.
Tafoki emphasised that Nigeria is a deeply religious nation, where both major faiths, Christianity and Islam strongly oppose nudity and obscenity, aligning with the call for stricter regulations to protect public morality.
