Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved a temporary visa-free entry policy for Chinese citizens, effective December 1, 2025. The measure permits tourism, business, private visits, and cultural exchanges through designated air and land border points.

The arrangement mirrors China’s recent one-year visa waiver for Russian nationals and will remain in place until September 14, 2026. Under the policy, Chinese visitors may stay up to 30 days within any 180 day period, with restrictions designed to prevent work or extended residence.

The initiative reflects the deepening ties between both nations, boosted by record bilateral trade and expanding flight connections.

Officials expect the policy to draw more Chinese tourists to Russian destinations such as Lake Baikal as routes continue to increase.
