The government of Saudi Arabia has approved the burial of Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, Aminu Dantata, in the holy city of Madina.
According to his Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Junaid, the burial is scheduled to take place on Monday morning.
Junaid confirmed the development in a post on his Facebook handle, on Sunday.
Also confirming the approval, Sanusi Dantata wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Late Alh. Aminu Dantata’s long-term wish was to be laid to rest in the Holy Prophet’s city of Madinah.
“Arrangements for approval from Saudi authorities to move the corpse from Abu Dhabi to Madinah are still ongoing. If it prolongs, the corpse will be brought back to Kano for burial.
“May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannah-tul-Firdaws. Ameen.”
A special Islamic funeral prayer, known as Salatul Ga’ib, was held in Kano on Saturday in honour of the late business icon who passed away in Dubai at 94, Dailyeconomy reports.
It was attended by thousands of mourners, including top dignitaries including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin.
