The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has filed a blistering formal complaint with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) over shoddy security, logistics, and unfair treatment ahead of Sunday’s explosive 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final against host nation Morocco.

In a statement released Saturday, the FSF detailed a chaotic arrival in Rabat by train from Tangier on Friday, where players and staff faced “a clear lack of adequate security measures” that left them exposed to overcrowding and risks “incompatible with the standards of a continental final.”

The federation didn’t stop there. They revealed having to issue a formal written complaint just to secure proper hotel accommodation after initial failures.

Senegal has boycotted training at the Mohammed VI Complex – Morocco’s tournament base – over “concerns over sporting fairness,” and slammed CAF for failing to assign an alternative venue.

As of Saturday’s media schedule, no training spot was confirmed.

The FSF decried receiving only 2,850 tickets for their supporters, per CAF limits, calling it another blow to equal treatment.

“We call on CAF and the local organising committee to implement immediate corrective measures to ensure fair play, equal treatment, and security,” the FSF demanded in their statement.

The high-stakes clash at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium pits Morocco – hungry for their first AFCON title since 1976 on home soil – against Senegal, the 2021 champions chasing a second crown.

Kickoff is Sunday evening, with tensions boiling over these pre-match dramas.
