Manchester United defender, Luke Shaw has lauded interim boss Michael Carrick for sparking a stunning revival, crediting the ex-midfielder’s intimate knowledge of the club for their blistering four-game Premier League winning streak.
Speaking to talkSPORT after United’s commanding 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday, Shaw spotlighted Carrick’s seamless impact since he stepped in for Ruben Amorim last month.
The win preserved Carrick’s 100% record, with United now boasting triumphs over Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham, and Spurs—catapulting them to fourth in the table and reigniting top-four dreams for Champions League football.
“He’s made lots of differences,” Shaw enthused.
“But for me, the biggest one is that he knows the club and understands exactly what it takes to win football matches, keep everyone happy, and enjoy what we’re doing.”
The long-serving left-back pointed to Carrick’s decorated playing days at Old Trafford—where he lifted the Premier League, Champions League, and more—as key to unlocking the squad’s potential.
That deep-rooted familiarity with United’s culture and demands has injected fresh energy into the dressing room, Shaw revealed, fostering motivation and a laser focus on consistency.
