Shettima condemns Konduga suicide bombing, vows swift government action

Vice President Kashim Shettima has strongly condemned the brutal suicide bombing attack that occurred Friday night at a local food joint in Konduga, Borno State, which claimed multiple lives.

A suicide bomber, on Friday, killed over 10 persons and injured scores at a local food joint in the Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.

Describing the attack as a “heinous act of terrorism against innocent civilians,” the Vice President pledged immediate government response to bring the perpetrators to justice and support the victims’ families.

Speaking on Saturday, Shettima called on relevant agencies to expedite investigations and provide urgent assistance to those affected. He expressed the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring justice and restoring peace in the region.

“The Federal Government will not relent in our efforts to ensure that those responsible for this despicable act face the full weight of the law,” Shettima said.

He extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the people of Borno State, emphasising the administration’s resolve to maintain security and stability.

”Our hearts go out to the families who have lost loved ones in this senseless act of violence. The government stands with them in this difficult time and will provide all necessary support,” he added.

Vice President Shettima reaffirmed the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to defeating terrorism and restoring lasting peace across Nigeria’s Northeast.

“We will not allow our enemies to undermine the progress we have made in degrading their capabilities,” he declared.
