Vice President Kashim Shettima has made an unscheduled visit to Maiduguri, Borno State capital, on Saturday to commiserate with the Nigerian Army and state government over recent attacks that killed Brigadier General Oseni Braimah and several soldiers.
In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media & Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima, representing President Bola Tinubu, praised the armed forces’ sacrifices.
He said, “These men wore the uniform for all of us. They stood to protect our communities, our families, and the future of our children. Their courage reminds us that peace and security often come at a very heavy cost.”
The Vice President reaffirmed the Federal Government’s support, adding that “criminals will have no hiding place under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
