Shettima, Hungarian President discuss strengthening Africa-Europe ties

Vice President Kashim Shettima met with Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok on the sidelines of the 7th African Union–European Union Summit in Luanda, where they engaged in wide-ranging discussions on security, governance, and shared priorities shaping cooperation between Africa and Europe.

The meeting occurred amid ongoing delegate talks focused on peace and collaboration across the two continents.

In their bilateral talks, the leaders highlighted the need to boost trade, investment, technology, and educational partnerships between Nigeria and Hungary.

Vice President Shettima in a post on X emphasised the importance of these sectors, stating, “We discussed strengthening ties between Nigeria and Hungary, with a focus on trade, investment, technology, and educational partnerships.”

Their meeting reflects a broader agenda of deepening Africa-Europe relations for sustainable development, peace, and prosperity.
