Vice President Kashim Shettima has performed Umrah, praying for the peace and prosperity of Nigeria at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, in Saudi Arabia.

His trip in Saudi Arabia is said to last from December 16 to 19, 2024.

Shettimah’s prayer for Nigeria was captured in a video shared on X by his Senior Special Assistant  on Media and Communication, Stanley Nwokocha.

Shettima in the video could be heard saying, “Our foremost prayer is for peace to prevail in our land, may Allah grant our land peace and social harmony.

“May Allah grant our nation prosperity and tranquility. May Allah grant our leaders, from the president down to our local councillors the wisdom of Solomon, the patience of Job and the generosity of Muhammad Rasulullah.

“May Allah grant us the wisdom to rule our nation well, to govern our people well and let there be peace and tranquility and prosperity in our nation.

“This is our prayer and insha’Allah our prayers will be answered by Allah.”

Dailyeconomy had earlier reported that Shettima departed Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, where he went to represent President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration of a $315 million oil production and storage facility, for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, the Lesser Hajj, in the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah.
