Shettima returns to Nigeria after UNGA

Vice President Kashim Shettima has on Sunday, returned to Abuja the state capital of Nigeria after successfully representing President Bola Tinubu at the just concluded 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States of America.
Shettima, who represented Tinubu had presented Nigeria’s National Statement at the General Debate, as well as engaged in several bilateral meetings and numerous sideline events at the General Assembly.
This was revealed in a post by the Senior Special Assistant to The Vice President on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha on Sunday.
He wrote, “Vice President Kashim Shettima on Sunday returned to Abuja after successfully representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the just concluded 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA.”
Nkwocha confirmed that Shettima will join Tinubu in the process of the forthcoming Independent Day celebration.
“He will proceed to join President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to mark some events put together as part of activities commemorating Nigeria’s 64th Independence anniversary,” he wrote.
Nigeria became an independent nation on October 1, 1960, and will be celebrating its 64th independent day on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
