The worldwide President of Nasrul‐Lahi‐il Fathi Society of Nigeria, Abdulwahid AbdulRauf has appealed to Nigerians to shun the planned nationwide protest scheduled to be held on August 1 to 10.

AbdulRauf in a statement sent to our correspondent via WhatsApp urged Nigerians to prioritise praying for the country to recover from the current economic hardship instead of protesting.

AbdulRauf in the statement established that Salih Al-Murri reported; that Malik ibn Dinar, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “I have found in the wisdom that Allah says: I am Allah (God), the king of kings. The hearts of the kings are in my hand.

“Whoever obeys me, I will make them merciful to him, and whoever disobeys me, I will make them malicious to him. Do not be preoccupied with cursing the kings, but rather repent to me and I will make them compassionate to you.”

He stated further that Nigerians should desist from cursing leaders.

“Do not curse your leaders, do not deceive them, and do not hate them. Fear God and be patient, for the matter is close at hand,” he quoted.

Dailyeconomy Sunday, July 23 reported that the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, vowed that police will be careful and professional in handling any protest in the country as it is a legal right of the citizens.
