The gunman, described as a white male, was positioned on the roof of a law firm building adjacent to the ICE facility.

He fired into an unmarked van transporting detainees around 6:40 a.m. from that rooftop vantage point.

As law enforcement approached, the sniper turned the rifle on himself, resulting in a self-inflicted fatal wound.

Police and FBI sources who spoke to FOX4 report that two detainees sustained fatal injuries at the scene, while the third was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.

The suspect’s identity remains unconfirmed pending further investigation.

Dallas police responded swiftly to the shooting at the 8100 block of North Stemmons Freeway.

Officials said the suspect fired multiple shots from the nearby building before the incident ended with his death.

An ongoing federal and local investigation aims to uncover the motive and full details surrounding this tragic event at the ICE facility.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims or the shooter as they verify information.
