Nigerian vehicle owners now enjoy peace of mind on the roads with Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc’s Motor Insurance, offering protection against accidents, fire, and theft.
With the enforcement of Third-Party Motor Insurance in Nigeria beginning on February 1, 2025, the National Insurance Industry Reform Act (NIIRA) 2025 now requires all vehicle owners to hold at least a third-party insurance policy before operating on public roads. Motorists can also opt for higher coverage, such as Third Party, Fire & Theft or Comprehensive Insurance, to secure their vehicles against additional risks.
The company’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Femi Asenuga, says, “Give your vehicle an umbrella cover round the year. Purchase a Mutual Benefits Comprehensive Insurance policy to enjoy peace of mind.”
Mutual Benefits Assurance offers three levels of motor insurance to meet diverse needs. With only N15,000 premium, Third Party Only covers damage to third-party property and bodily injury or death up to N3 million, providing statutory compliance and financial relief of up to one million Naira.
For broader protection, Third Party, Fire & Theft covers all third-party liabilities and adds protection against fire damage and theft or attempted theft to the insured vehicle.
The Comprehensive Insurance option provides maximum security to the insured vehicle, including all benefits of third-party and fire & theft coverage, plus repair or replacement for accidental damage caused by collision, overturning, or malicious acts. Comprehensive plans are offered in Silver, Gold, and Diamond tiers, designed to suit different budgets and protection levels.
Coverage extends across Nigeria and West Africa, with policies effective immediately upon issuance of the insurance certificate and ending at midnight on the expiry date. Policyholders are expected to disclose all material facts, pay premiums promptly, and report claims without delay.
