Delta State Police Command has arrested a heartless stepfather accused of years of sexual abuse against his 13-year-old stepdaughter, culminating in her pregnancy and a forced abortion using pills he bought online.
In a poignant video interview shared by Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe, the brave young victim recounted the nightmare that began when she was just 11 years old.
She described repeated assaults by the man, who later researched abortion methods on Google after discovering the pregnancy.
Edafe, while parading the suspect before journalists, voiced his disgust at the crime.
“This man has been defiling his stepdaughter for years, he got her pregnant and went online, Googled abortion pills, bought them and gave her to abort the pregnancy.
“How can a man do this to a child?” he fumed.
The police spokesman used the platform to rally parents and victims alike.
He urged vigilance from guardians and encouraged survivors to come forward, stressing that the command handles such cases with “utmost seriousness.”
He confirmed the arrest followed the girl’s courageous report.
Investigations continue, with the suspect facing charges of rape, defilement, and related offenses in court.
