A new era for African fashion has dawned with the official launch of Stitches Africa, an AI-powered e-commerce platform connecting African designers and tailors with global customers, particularly Africans in the diaspora seeking authentic, custom-made African wear.
The innovative platform, which combines technology, creativity, and commerce, aims to bridge the fashion gap between Africa and the rest of the world. By addressing long-standing challenges such as limited access to African-made fashion abroad, market visibility for local designers, and inconsistent bespoke measurements, Stitches Africa is redefining how African fashion is created, sold, and experienced.
With its AI-driven body measurement technology, users can generate precise digital measurements for perfectly tailored fits from anywhere in the world, making it easier than ever to enjoy bespoke African fashion without geographical barriers. The platform also offers a seamless shopping experience for bespoke and ready-to-wear items, accessories, and apparel designed by verified African creators.
Beyond consumers, Stitches Africa also empowers designers and tailors by providing access to new international customers, the ability to earn in foreign currency, and potential funding support through strategic financial partnerships.
In a significant boost to its ambitions, Stitches Africa has secured a US$50 million financing programme to support its market expansion, merchant production financing, logistics development, and product portfolio growth. The financing is being led by JF Advisory Group, with Cedrus Trustees Limited serving as Custodian and Transaction Trustee.
The investment will enable Stitches Africa to scale operations across key international markets, enhance cross-border distribution, and strengthen logistics infrastructure to support the global demand for African fashion.
“We are building the future of African fashion commerce, one that empowers creators, strengthens value chains, and connects African creativity to global markets,” said Ntishorkara Monkom, Head of Legal at Stitches Africa. “This financing demonstrates strong confidence in our business model and in the immense potential that Africa’s fashion industry represents.”
JF Advisory Group will serve as lead investor and spearhead the mobilization of additional institutional partners to support Stitches Africa’s long-term growth. Cedrus Trustees Limited, as Transaction Trustee, will oversee fund governance and compliance to ensure transparency and measurable impact.
With over 46 million Africans living in the U.S. and millions more across Europe, South America, and Australia, the timing of Stitches Africa’s launch reflects the growing global appetite for authentic African craftsmanship and cultural expression.
Fashion enthusiasts and members of the African diaspora can now explore the continent’s finest designs and bespoke creations at its website.
