Telegram Chief Executive Officer, Pavel Durov, has marked the 11th anniversary of the messaging platform, Telegram, by sharing a personal message that reflected on a commitment he made when he was 11 years old in 1995 on his channel.

On Wednesday, Durov shared on his Telegram channel that he promised himself to become smarter, stronger, and freer every day when he was age 11.

Associating his commitment with Telegram, Durov emphasised that the platform aims to become smarter by offering more features, stronger by gaining more popularity among users, and freer by becoming more independent and self-sufficient.

The 39-year-old CEO however announced the introduction of new features. The features include a new type of the channel and three new ways to support content creators.

He wrote, “When I turned 11 in 1995, I made a promise to myself to become smarter, stronger and freer every day. Today Telegram turns 11 years old, and it’s ready to make the same commitment.

“Every day, Telegram should become: smarter (more features for the people), stronger (more popular among users), and freer (more independent and self-sufficient). Happy birthday, Telegram!”

The new features according to Durov are part of Telegram’s ongoing efforts to enhance user experience and provide more tools for its community.

“Just 2 weeks after the last major Telegram update, we’re launching new features today – a new type of channels and 3 new ways to support content creators. Enjoy!” he added.
