Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has expressed deep concern following a terrorist attack on Eruku town in Kwara State.
In a statement released Wednesday, Saraki described the incident as “seriously disturbing” noting that some residents were injured while others were kidnapped.
He sympathised with the victims and their families, praying “for Allah’s healing, restoration and strength at this difficult time.”
Saraki urged the federal government and security agencies to “urgently act to ensure that the kidnapped victims of this sad incident regain their freedom and return home safely.”
Highlighting the strategic significance of Kwara, Saraki emphasised that “the state is one of the gateways into the country and a link between the southern and northern parts,” calling for “a special security arrangement that will not jeopardise our national interest and internal peace.”
He concluded with a heartfelt plea, “May Allah (SWT) heal our land and help us defeat all those waging wars against Nigeria.”
