Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola well called Portable has recently called out his fellow celebrities for their lack of financial support towards the medical bills of ailing music video director ThankGod Omori popularly called TG Omori.
Portable expressed his disappointment in a video shared on his Instagram story, criticising the entertainment industry for what he described as fake love, noting that if the music video director hadn’t overcharged him when wanted to work with him, he would have rendered financial assistance to him in this difficult time.
Omori, who recently underwent a failed kidney transplant, has been in the spotlight due to his health struggles.
Portable underscored that while several celebrities, including Victor Osimhen and Don Jazzy, had previously donated to controversial figures like Bobrisky, they have not extended the same support to Omori, who is facing a serious health crisis.
He said, “Fake love, that is what the entertainment industry is filled with; TG Omori needs a kidney, and there’s no one to donate money for him. But you all can contribute money for a crossdresser.
“Assuming he did a video for me back then, I would have been one of those who would have helped him but he gave me a huge bill.”
Reacting after Portable’s utterance, Omori via his X (formally Twitter) on Sunday, clarified that he didn’t seek financial assistance and that all he was seeking were prayers, moral support and love.
He expressed gratitude for the support, love and prayers he has gotten in abundance and urged the public to shun anyone using his health challenges to chase clout.
He wrote, “All I needed was your prayers, moral support and love and this I am grateful to have gotten in abundance.
“The industry and friends have been solidly behind me for months before it all became public. Please ignore the clout-desperate dogs. Jesus is king.”
Dailyeconomy on Friday, August 30, reported that Omori sought prayers when he underwent a failed kidney transplant after his brother donated a kidney for him in a Lagos hospital. However, he confirmed on Friday that he has been recovering from a failed kidney transplant.
