Manchester United manager, Rúben Amorim delivered a stark assessment of his side’s struggles after a disappointing Premier League campaign, admitting the season ranks among the club’s lowest points in decades.
“I still feel that this season was the worst in 40 years.
“We could be the worst United team in Premier League history with the Europa League title, but it won’t change anything. This season has been very disappointing. Nothing will change that,” Amorim stated, underlining the depth of his frustration after a string of poor results.
Amorim’s remarks follow a year marked by inconsistency, early exits, and a league finish well below expectations.
He underscored the need for change, saying, “This season has shown us clearly that we cannot go through something like this again.
“We understand the context, but a year like this cannot be repeated. It’s time to change the mindset.”
Despite the harsh self-critique, Amorim praised the club’s young players for stepping up, but insisted that the standards at Manchester United must be restored.
